"cannot read disk: Failure" does not mean you need to buy a new PC!
The error message of "cannot read disk: Failure" when starting your PC, may seem a bit final, and like its just sounded the bell of death for your beloved machine. BUT... it needent be!
This error does not necessarily mean the hard drive is screwed beyong beleif. Here's how to resolve it:
1. Borrow someone else's PC
2. Open the cover of your PC, when the PC is trying to start, can you feel any vibration from the hard drive? If yes, and there isnt an awful ticking noise - you are in luck.
3. If there is no vibration, check the ATX power plugs. Swap one over. If this fails, your hard drive is screwed
4. Take out the hard drive, and put into the friends machine, set it so that it is a secondary / slave drive
5. Start up your friends PC and check the drive appears in My Computer.
6. Do a "disk check" operation - by going to Properties of the drive, and Tools
7. LEt it run through a check and fix operation
8. Put it back in your PC, and it should now start up!
Hope this helps!

why does my leg feel hot, as though someone is pouring hot water on it?
Problem: You suffer from feeling of heat on your leg, as though someone is pouring hot water onto it? This can happen multiple times a day.
Diagnosis: This is more than likely to be a case of lack of vitamins and a minor strain to your muscles / nerves. Rest your leg, and exercise it gently for a few days - and take some multivitamins. You will probably notice this problem go away!
If it doesn't, or gets worse - or you are concerned at all then consult your doctor!

Parcel Force Alternatives
Recently i sold some brake discs for a car on Ebay. I put a postage price of £5 on it, thinking that would be "about right".
Imagine my shock when i do a quote with Parcel Force / Royal Mail for an 11KG parcel. £22! This was for standard delivery, nothing special or next day.
However, there is.. another way. UK Mail. for £9 i was able to send this Next Day delivery and it got there without any problems at all. I was even able to drop it off at their local depot to save me having to wait in at home, or them come to work. So, if you are ever in the same situation - take a look and give it ago. UK Mail

My Central heating does not work, but my hot water does?
Problem: Your Central heating radiators are not getting hot, but the hot water is.
How to resolve: somewhere near the central heating pump (near the water tank) is an Actuator which is a small electrical box sat on top of a valve. The actuator turns the valve automatically to to let water into the hot water tank, or the radiators, or both. If the actuator breaks then the valve wont turn automatically.
On the side there should be a level which is set to Auto. Try to move this to Manual whilst the central heating is switched to on, and see if the radiators get hot. If the lever cannot be moved then the actuator head and valve need replacing. If you can move the lever and the radiators get hot, then you can just buy a replacement actuator head (one screw, and 4 wires) and this should resolve it.

Natwest Morgage - can you overpay via online banking?
Question: Natwest or RBS Mortgages - can you overpay via online banking?
Answer: Apparently not. You can set up regular overpayment's via phoning the mortgage centre, and make one off overpayment's by phoning them also - but there is no facility to overpay via online banking. Bit of a shame that to be honest!

How to Earn Extra Cash & Save Money
It's obvious that since disaster struck the economy that more and more people are desperately short of money, and are looking for ways to save money, and earn extra money.
I have been looking at ways to do this for a number of years and from my experiences i have listed a number which can work below. Hope this helps!
1. Dropshipping & Ebay - It is possible that you can make money on eBay, by selling stuff which isn't actually yours! I know this sounds dodgy - but this is how it works. DropShipping is where you open an account with a DropShipper who can sell you stock at a reduced RRP. You list these items on Ebay for a profit, sometimes as much as 60%. Someone buys the item, you place the order with the dropshipper who then delivers this direct to the buyer. You take the profit between what you get from the buyer, and what the item cost from the dropshipper. Be careful when selecting a Dropshipper - there are some unscrupulous and unreliable one. The best ones which i can recommend as working are: http://www.activ8uk.co.uk/ and http://www.chinavasion.com/
2. Sell your stuff on Ebay - It's an obvious one really. Sell your stuff on Ebay that you don't need or want! One of the best things to sell on Ebay is mobile phones. If they are less than 2 years old, you will get more on Ebay for these than you would from advertised "sell your mobile" sites.
3. Get cash back from shopping and save at the same time - Yes, its true - by looking in the right place you can save big money on shopping AND get cash back at the same time. Quidco is one of the largest Cash back and Voucher Codes sites. Its FREE to join, and there are some amazing deals to snap up. You can register your card details, so that when you shop at one of their thousands of retailers you earn cash back from your purchases. You can also find amazing deals, and earn cash back online from going through Quidco. You can even do this with Car insurance! An example: I saved £300 on my car insurance and got £25 cash back. I also got £50 cash back from taking out a Virgin Money ISA, and just over £10 from shopping in Halfords. Check it out and start saving: Quidco
4. Save on your Utility bills - With Gas and Electricity prices constantly on the rise, its important that you get the best deal. By switching to a fixed, or online account with a supplier you can save hundreds of pounds! We did this by switching from Southern Electric, to British Gas on a web saver tariff and we have saved around £350 a year! Take a look at how much you can save: www.uswitch.com
5. Shop around for Car Insurance - It is amazing and shocking how many people just accept their renewal price on car insurance. This is a big no, and you could be costing yourselves big money by not shopping around. I recently got my car insurance cheaper by shopping around, and getting a good deal. Lots of car insurance compare sites out there, but if you want to save & get cash back as well then take a look at Quidco
6. Collect Nectar points on shopping - Another way of collecting points on your shopping is with a Nectar card. There are lots of retailers where you can collect points, including BP services stations, Salisbury's, Ford, and British Gas. Both in store and online! You can even collect points just by having a Nectar Toolbar in your Internet browser! Check it out and start collecting: www.nectar.com

How to fix a kettle that has boiled dry
Problem: You turned on your kettle with no water in it, and it boiled dry. Now it will not turn on
Resolution: Follow the below steps to fix the kettle:
1. Check the fuse on the plug, and replace it.
2. Check for a reset switch on the kettle - some of them have a thermal cut out.
3. Replace the element if the kettle is worth keeping - otherwise it might be cheaper to buy a new kettle
Nine times out of ten, replacing the fuse will resolve your problem!
